What is Tradical Hemcrete®?

Tradical Hemcrete® is a sustainable highly insulating construction product made from hemp shiv (woody core) and lime designed for the creation of insulating walls, as well as insulating layers for floors and roofs. Tradical Hemcrete® is a blend of specially prepared hemp shiv (Tradical® HF) and a special lime based binder (Tradical® HB). Together these products form a biocomposite building material that can be used both for the creation of buildings that have excellent thermal and acoustic properties as well as creating a healthy and comfortable living and working environment.

Tradical Hemcrete® has the ability to make a huge impact on the future of sustainable building. Helping to reverse the damaging effects of greenhouse gases, Tradical Hemcrete® locks-up approximately 110 tonnes CO2 per m3 of wall and provides one of the best value materials for low impact sustainable construction.

Produced mainly from renewable resources Tradical Hemcrete is mixed on site for fast track construction and delivers high levels of insulation, air-tightness and vapour permeability.
